After days of clear skies, high-flying cirrus clouds gallop playfully across the blue, condensing snow and ice crystals that fall into the lower and lazier air below. The graceful white streamers left behind, called Mare’s Tails, were a first hint to sailors of deeper clouds and bad weather following. But until then, these first frisky foals are just ... horsin’ around.
